JFK CES

Centralized Examination Station (CES)

How stakeholders can benefit?

As the method of carriage for cargo destined to the CES the airlines will provide the CES with information about special handling requirements for the shipments and help to ensure that the cargo is readily available for transit to the CES. The Airline or GHA  will be responsible for reporting the status of any liens that may impact the ultimate delivery of the shipment and confirmation of the availability of the cargo scheduled for drayage by the CES team.

Key functionalities

Key benefits

Optimize Capacity for increased Revenue per FTK

Promoting sustainable environment by exchange of real-time information

Enhanced customer-connect with freight forwarders network

Seamless distribution and management

Customs Brokers and/or the importer of record are integral in the flow of cargo destined for examination at the CES. The Broker or importer must make the necessary transportation arrangements to have the shipments moved from either the Airline warehouse or Container Freight Station to the CES facility. As required by the commodities and CBP, they will schedule and be present for the examination. The brokers or importers are financially responsible for the examination and handling charges of the shipment, being certain to clear all liens prior to collection of the cargo. The JFK CES will maintain an open line of communication with the Customs Brokers during the handling of their shipments.

ATTENTION JFK Truckers - - your registration for the WFS TSM is only valid for picking up/dropping off cargo at a WFS cargo handling facility.

You will need to register on the CES Portal to move cargo to/from the CES warehouse.

The sheer quantum of cargo traffic year after year necessitates the deployment of a robust cargo handling software that streamlines operations and optimises operational efficiencies. Disparate legacy systems and siloed infrastructure have been traditionally the air cargo industry’s transformational challenges. The need of the hour is investment in technology to ensure smooth operations and a future-ready air cargo industry.

An end-to-end international air freight software plugs the gaps in legacy systems while minimising duplication of efforts and documentation. An intelligent system brings forth transparency and higher levels of dependability. The way forward for the air cargo industry hinges on technology adoption and digitalisation that ensures speedy processes and a swifter growth trajectory.
